INTRODUCING TOUCH PADEL
WHAT IS IT?
Touch Padel is a micro version of padel. Played on a condensed court, it is perfect to practice the chiquita’s, work the glass, work your legs and decide when to get into the net. Plus, its singles – no more blaming your partner. Great for a pre match warm up or to beat your mates one on one.
So who’s got the best touch?
VOLLEY ZONE
Touch Padel is padel reimagined—compact, strategic, and fast-paced. Play singles for pure precision or doubles for a high-energy challenge. The twist? You can only volley in the “Volley Zone” (The Bedroom), where timing is everything. Perfect to sharpen your skills or settle scores. Who’s got the best touch?
The COURT
The playing area is similar in design to padel court, with glass walls, grill and central net but on a smaller scale, typically 30-40% in size of a full doubles court. The net is the same height as padel. Doors are close to enclose the entire court – so no out of court play! Apart from the reduced court size there is one major difference to padel court – the Attack Zone
HOW TO PLAY
It‘s Padel with a few key differences!
-
Service cross court from behind the service line. First and second serve.
-
You cannot hit the grill from a serve, but you can on all other shots.
-
Lines are in.
-
Shots must bounce before they hit the glass.
-
Scoring is normal padel and tennis scoring.
SPOT THE DIFFERENCE
KEY DIFFERENce
1
Touch Padel has the Volley Zone (also known as The Bedroom - this is where the magic happens). The Volley Zone is the ONLY area you can volley from.
KEY DIFFERENce
2
It is predominantly a singles game; however it is also possible to play doubles – just with caution – you have less space!
key shots
Pop out
Lot of opportunities to pop the ball out of the court from the volley zone.
Chiquita
A great counter attacking shot in padel, almost all shots in Touch Padel will be chiquita’s.
Volley
You can only volley (hit the ball before it bounces) in the volley zone.
Back Boast
Get yourself out of trouble quickly hitting directly off the back glass.
Side Boast
change direction quickly hitting directly off the side glass.
LOB
A good option if your opponent is in the Volley Zone. Make it high!
Dormilona
The Hollywood finish! Hit the ball back into your opponent’s net if they do not successfully finish a smash.
SERVES
Cross court same as padel. Keep it simple.
HOW DOES TOUCH PADEL HELP MY PADEL?
Footwork & Fitness
Its singles, its fast, its intense. The court may be smaller, but you hi many more balls in a shorter space of time which gives you a fantastic workout almost immediately. Playing almost exclusively off the glass means your feet need to move fast and constantly!
Playing user pressure
It’s a small area and mistakes get punished so it is critical to play with a cool head and keep your opponent thinking, moving and hitting one more ball – just like padel.
Tactics & Decision making
Knowing when to come to the net to volley (i.e. when your opponent is under pressure), knowing when to play an angled shot, when to lob, when to change the direction of the ball and use the glass effectively.
Technique
Hitting Chquita’s! Find a way to play soft but attacking shots consistently at different angles, while your opponent is close to the net.
Mastering the glass
Unlike padel, where the ball bounces into the glass on some points but not all, it is likely to happen on nearly every shot in touch padel. This means that your play off the glass (timing and movement in particular) improves rapidly for when you get back on a padel court.

One way to find out…
EXTENDED RULES
All play begins with an underarm serve from the right service court into the opponent's court diagonally across similar to tennis and padel:
The server must allow the ball to bounce once before hitting it and the ball must be hit at or below waist level.
The server must keep at least one foot on the ground when hitting the serve.
The server's feet may not touch or cross the service line while serving.
Contact with the ball across the centre service line is allowed.
The serve must land in the opponent's service box.
If the ball bounces in the service box and strikes the side or back wall, it is a valid serve and must be played by the opposing player.
If the ball hits the net, then bounces in the service box and strikes the side or back wall, it is a let and must be replayed.
If the ball lands in the service box and hits the wire fencing, it is considered a fault.
If the ball hits the net, then lands in the service box and hits the wire fencing, it is considered a fault.
In touch padel as in tennis & padel, you get a second serve.
What's In, The following are allowed:
The lines are considered in play only during the initial serve.
Otherwise, they are not a factor in determining the outcome of each point in the game.
All players are permitted to play a ball off any of the walls on their own side of the court.
What's Out, The opposition wins a point if:
The ball bounces twice in any area on your side of the court.
The ball strikes you while in play.
The ball hits the wire fencing, posts or any other fixture before going over the net or landing on the opponent's court.
The ball hits the wire fence or walls before bouncing on the opponent's side of the court.
